Continuing Education at The Menninger Clinic

Criteria for CE
All continuing education activities go through an extensive development process. This process ensures high quality relevant programming that meets the needs of The Menninger Clinic’s healthcare disciplines.

In its design and implementation of all educational activities, the Continuing Education Committee initiates programming if the program meets an identified need, presents new research that impacts quality of care and introduces relevant topics of special interest. The following process is used in the planning process.

Assessment of Needs
The Director, Staff Development and Education, collects needs assessment data through many means including an annual educational needs survey, quarterly review of annual performance evaluation, Quality Council and evaluation forms of previous education activities. Needs are then prioritized and the planning of educational activities begins.

Planning
The committee defines the purpose of the activity, identifies the activity presenters and defines measurable objectives.

Implementation
After an effective planning session (s) the activity is then presented.

Evaluation
Each activity is evaluated by the participants at the end of the activity. The presenters and members of the Continuing Education Committee also evaluate the planning process.
