Insurance
Menninger services are within the definition of “mental and nervous” benefits. Most insurance requires preadmission or employee assistance program certification before full benefits are available. We routinely help verify insurance benefits and facilitate reimbursement from your insurance company for the treatment you receive at Menninger. Some insurance plans cover treatment at Menninger; others do not.

We provide all necessary information to insurance companies to facilitate reimbursement. However, we are unable to guarantee if and how much the insurance company will reimburse. A large majority of patients and families pay for their treatment with the possibility of reimbursement.

Families wanting to check with their insurance carriers in advance may find the following information helpful when determining benefits.

The Menninger Clinic is:

• A private, not-for-profit, psychiatric hospital offering specialty care.
• Accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations
• Operated without on-site surgical facilities. Menninger has transfer agreements with local medical hospitals.

Payment of services
Our Admissions representatives also will work with you before admission to develop a plan for payment of services. Our staff recognizes the importance of making arrangements for treatment. We follow the laws governing patient confidentiality and carefully guard the medical, insurance and financial information that we discuss with you.
